AFTER THREE DAYS

 "AFTER THREE DAYS"

A Surprising Look at 'good friday' as contrasted with the True Three Days AND THREE NIGHTS the Lord Jesus was in the heart of the earth; as revealed by The Bible.

>>Previous Person> Sabbath (Day of rest) and I have heard at times...

>Curious Questioner> Sabbath is the seventh day of the week...how can there be more than one "seventh" day in ANY week?
A "sabbath" is -any- day of REST, whether a weekly sabbath or a special sabbath of rest. Regardless what day of the week it falls on, the 10th day of the 7th month is a special sabbath, beginning at the sunset which ends the 9th day:

"It shall be unto you a -sabbath- of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath." (Lev.23:32)

>>Previous Person> day fell on Tue. when Jesus could have eat the last supper. His trails arrests and crusifiction on Wen. Burial before the first Sabbath that would start sundown Wed. In the grave from sundown Wed. to sundown Sat. I believe he could have rose anytime after sunset Sat. The women came early Sunday morning to the grave, and he had already arose.
>Curious Questioner> He was crucified and buried on Friday. He arose on Sunday Morning. He said He would arise on the third day NOT AFTER three days.
The Lord Jesus also said "after" as anyone can see:

"And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and -after- three days rise again." (Mark 8:31)

He was killed on the 4th day of the week, but not buried until sunset that began the 5th day of the week. He was in the heart of the earth the 5th, 6th and 7th days of the week for a full three days and three nights. He arose from the dead in the end of the sabbath, the 7th day of the week.

Being "killed" on the 4th day of the week, any time on the 5th day (the 1st day of burial) would be "after" one day. The 6th day (the 2nd day of burial) would be "after" two days. The 7th day of the week, (the third day of burial) BEFORE sunset, would be "after three days", from the time he was killed, but still "the third day" from the time of his burial, which was at the beginning of the day after he was killed. Plainly, the third day of his burial was three days -after- he was killed.

Remember that Jesus is the Lord, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world. Christ died for our sins, and was buried, and the third day arose from the dead for our justification through faith in his blood. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Amen. --Richard

 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them;
 for they know not what they do.
