 Grace on the cross

A Surprising Look at 'Passion' scenes, contrasted with the True picture of the Lord Jesus' suffering on the cross; as revealed by The Bible. Do you know how many people were crucified with Christ?

Reprint of a 30Jan96 reply to a Curious Questioner--

>>RC> 1. Luke called him a malefactor, not a thief

>CQ> True, but Matthew said that 2 thieves were crucified with Christ, one his right and the other on his left.
The two malefactors were crucified with him BEFORE his raiment was parted (Luke 23:33,34), but the two thieves were crucified with him AFTER his garments were parted (Matt.27:35-38). Both of the thieves railed on him (Matt.27:44), but only "one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him" (Luke 23:39p). You really ought to read the HOLY Bible (A.V.1611) sometime, instead of being brainwashed by all the idolatrous pictures and phony movies about these things.

The other malefactor acknowledged his sins, defended Jesus, and said unto Jesus, "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom."

>>RC> 2. That malefactor died AFTER Jesus, and the testament went into effect after Jesus died, so the malefactor was under the N.T.
>CQ> I would guess that he did die AFTER Christ, too. Do you have any Scripture on the subject?
You know that the soldiers came to brake the legs of those crucified, to hasten their death, but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was DEAD ALREADY, "they brake not his legs." (ref._Jn.19:31-37)
>CQ> Wasn't Jesus on the Cross from about the 6th hour (12 p.m.) to about the 9th hour (3 p.m.)?
It was the THIRD(9am) hour and they crucified him. There was darkness from the sixth(noon) hour until the ninth(3pm) hour, and Jesus commended his spirit unto the Father and gave up the ghost.
>CQ> I heard someone say that it could take over 8 hours for crucifiction to kill. Jesus died in 3 hours.
It may have taken 3 hours for ALL of our UMPTEEN-JILLION SINS to be dumped on him. He carried our burden and laid down his life for us.
>CQ> Someone said that the stress that He had (God forsaking Him. Bearing our sins. The sorrow He felt for the world) caused fluid to form around his heart (blood and water flowed). This man sayed that Jesus died from a broken heart.
He died for our SINS. God sent a soldier to pierce his side at the fifth rib and pierced his heart, and there came out blood and water, even eternal redemption through FAITH in his blood. The way is still open, for even after he was raised from the dead, he invited Thomas to THRUST his hand into his side: "and be not faithless, but believing." (Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour! :)

The word of faith says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Rom.10:9)

Grace be with thine heart in love for Jesus' sake. Amen. --Richard

 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them;
 for they know not what they do.
