REVIVED AGAIN!

 REVIVED AGAIN

A Surprising Look at 'good friday' as contrasted with the True Three Days AND THREE NIGHTS the Lord Jesus was in the heart of the earth; as revealed by The Bible.

>CQ> I believe it was in David's time, when someone captured a slave from the opposite camp. Here it states that it was three days and three nights, when it actually was over the course of barely three days.

The passage is in 1st Samuel chapter 30, a few verses after the place where "David encouraged himself in the LORD his God." (Amen!)

"And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days -and- three nights." (1Sam.30:12) He was certainly a sign unto that generation.

The passage in fact indicates a FULL period of "three days and three nights" (1Sam.30:12p), for that young Egyptian said: "My master left me, because three days agone I fell sick." (1Sam.30:13p)

That obviously indicates three full days had come and GONE (sunset). There may be some places in the Bible where the term "day" can be referring to only a part of day, but not here, nor in Matt.12, nor Jonah where the expression "three days AND THREE NIGHTS" is used.

You will find other time indicators in 1Sam.29:10,11; 30:1; and the "twilight" that followed that sunset in 1Sam.30:17, and a clear indication of a complete day from that twilight to next day evening.

It is obvious that "the Son of man" was three days and three nights in the heart of the earth, even as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's BELLY. When the Lord cast Jonah into the deep, the water came into him, even unto his soul. (He drowned.) The depth covered him round about, and the Lord wrapped his head with weeds. And that about "wraps up" the story, except that the Lord had also prepared a great fish (Jesus also called it a whale) to entomb him.

The Lord Jesus was entombed as the sun was setting wednesday (the beginning of the 5th day of the week and "high day" sabbath.) A full 72-hours later, he arose from the heart of the earth as the sun was setting saturday (end of the weekly sabbath, and beginning of the 1st day of the week.) The vain traditions and idolatry associated with so-called "good" friday are an abomination. (Be not deceived.) Grace be to them that receive the love of the truth. Amen. --Richard

>CQ> Subject: Jesus' death
>CQ> The story of the slave is found in I Samuel 30:12.
The "Egyptian" of 1Sam.30:11-13 is called a "servant", not a slave. The word "slave" only occurs one time in the Old Testament (Jer.2:14) and you will find the word "servant" in the same verse. (It is very important to realize that there is a difference! See Rev.18:13 :)

>CQ> I don't know how we can know exactly how long he hadn't eaten though.
The Holy Spirit TOLD you that "he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days -and- three nights." After he was revived, and able to speak, he said that his master left him, "because three days agone I fell sick." (see John 11:6,7)

Do you understand the expression "came to pass"? or "come and gone"? On Sunday, the previous Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are three days agone. Look at 2Sam 1:1,2 for a case of two days agone:

"NOW it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amelekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag; It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out...", etc. (see John.10:40; 11:6,9,17,44)

The expression "third day since" (Lk.24:21p) is easy to understand also. The first day since Thursday is Friday; The second day since Thursday is Saturday; And the third day since Thursday is Sunday.

>CQ> I had heard the idiom to explain that any part of a day counted as a day, just as we could say "yesterday" to refer to 10 hours ago.
On Sunday, if you say "yesterday", you are referring to Saturday. On Sunday, if you say THREE days ago, you are referring to Thursday.
>CQ> I don't know about night.
Saying "yesternight" on Sunday night, refers to Saturday night. Counting "three nights" from Wednesday sunset: Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night. Counting "three days": Thursday day, Friday day, Saturday day. Exactly 72 hours at sunset Saturday. Later, when Mary came to the tomb before sunrise Sunday, while it was yet dark, he had already risen and was "found not" until later.

The false gospels promoted by catholics and protestants that say he was buried Friday at sunset are obviously FALSE, because it is LESS than one and a half days from Friday sunset to before Sunday sunrise. One and a half days can NOT possibly be three days and three nights. (False teachers with their false gospels are "accursed." Gal.1:8,9)

Remember that Jesus is the Lord and that he gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil world. Wicked Easter worship by pagans pretending to be "Christian" is an abomination. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who was three days AND three nights in the heart of the earth. Receive him in thine heart and be saved. Grace be with you for Jesus' sake. Amen. --Richard

Later, when Mary came to the tomb before sunrise Sunday, while it was yet dark, he was already risen.
>CQ> John 19:31 says "The Jews therefore, because it was the day of preparation...
John did not say "day of" in that place. Here is what he said: "The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate [that] their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away." (John.19:31)

The preparation of the passover began on the 10th day of the first month (Abib) when the Lamb was brought in from the field to be with the household. (Mark.11:7-11)

The house was cleansed of leaven. (Mark.11:15-17)

The children spend a lot of time with the Lamb. (Mark.11:1 - 15:23 :)

The whole assembly of the children of Israel killed the Lamb at even (14 Abib) and his blood protects all within the Father's house until the morning when it is time to depart to the other side of the water to be with him in the glorious land beyond the grave of Egypt.
>CQ> I have been taught the Wednsday theory but it just doesn't wash The women did not bring the spices because of the Sabbath.
They couldn't buy spices because of the "high day" sabbath of the feast of unleavened bread on Thursday, so they "had bought" spices on Friday and rested on the sabbath (Saturday). The first day of the feast of unleavened bread was a special sabbath in which "no servile work" could be done. (No stores open, etc. :)
>CQ> The sun was setting on Friday night.
Sunset Friday is the beginning of the 7th day of the week. Exactly 1 day later (Sunset Saturday) is the beginning of the 1st day of the week. He had already risen before Mary arrived at the tomb while it was yet dark. Friday night and Saturday night are only 2 nights, and Saturday day is only 1 day. Can you not see that?

For Jesus to be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth, he had to be buried sunset Wednesday (beginning 5th day of the week), in the heart of the earth the 5th, 6th, and 7th days of the week.
>CQ> Also, since Jesus was perfect, would he have eaten the Passoever on the wrong day?
When Jesus sat down AT EVEN with the disciples to eat the passover a day earlier than the Jews' observance, he was correct to do so. (And consider Joshua 10:12-14 where 1 day was about 2 days long. :)

>CQ> I certainly hope thaat you are ot refering to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Are you refering to Thomas, Philip, or something else?
The reference statement plainly identifies you people who teach your false gospel that has Jesus in the earth only a day and a half, instead of 3 days and 3 nights as he said. Do you really want to be accursed? You really ought to receive the Biblical gospel of the grace of God as Paul declared that gospel in his epistles.
>CQ> When the Jews spoke of 3 days they meant any part of a day.
The Lord Jesus also spoke of "three NIGHTS". There is only 1 night and part of another between Friday sunset and Sunday before sunrise, and only 1 day between those nights. (Time to wake up people!)

Receive him in thine heart and be saved for Jesus' sake. Be not deceived other wise. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. --Richard
