Cotton Candy! (grin :) > (R4) Drank, Drunk, Drunken (R4Drank.96Jan29:23:56.FAQ) >>>CQ> But, in those days they drank alchohol. I do not see how one can refute it honestly.>>RC> MANY people since the time of Noah have given themselves over to spirits of alcohol. Christians are supposed to "be sober." >CQ> Exactly; and being sober means one does not drink excessivly. The Bible is full of praises towards wine. In fact, it was the choice libation offering to the LORD!The word "libation" is -not- found in the Bible. The sweet new wine poured on coals of fire was for a BURNT offering of a SWEET savour. One day, when some electrical wiring on my car engine caught fire, the Lord granted me the presence of mind to sacrifice my soft drink, by shaking it and spraying it on the engine, putting out the fire. I'll never forget that BLESSED "cotton candy" smell in the air! :) >CQ> PRECISELY! "BE NOT DRUNK with wine, WHEREIN IS EXCESS." That is a clear statement demanding moderation,No, that scripture is a QUALITATIVE, NOT quantitative command. The sin is not in the quantity, but the sin is drinking the sort of wine -WHEREIN- is "excess" (Grk.AS0TIA, "unsavedness"!) Instead of being filled with spirits of wine that was NOT SAVED from the corruption of alcoholic fermentation, the child of God is commanded rather, to be filled with the Spirit, in the JOY of the Holy Ghost. (Amen.) >CQ> Having a glass of wine will not get one drunk.None of the many NON-alcoholic species of wine can get "one" drunk. As for alcoholic wine, whether you take in only a few spirits of alcohol, or a "Legion" of spirits, you're NOT SAVED by such. The word of faith says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved; For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Do you smell like COTTON CANDY to the Lord? [2Cor.2:15!] :) Grace be to them that cherish the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. --Richard
