MILK of the GRAPES!
> RE: (4) BE SOBER! (MB.Sober4:96Jan01:06:36.FAQ updated 31Jan98) >Curious Questioner> If new wine is not alcoholic, why were the apostles at Pentecost accused of being drunk on new wine?"Others -mocking- said, These men are full of new wine." (Act.2:13) Well, Friend, do you SEE why? They were mocking! You can NOT get drunk on new wine anymore than you can get drunk on -fresh- milk. "This thy stature is -like- to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes." (Song Of Songs: SOS.7:7! MILK of the GRAPES! :) WHAT HO! Turning to page 77 of volume 5 of Grolier Encyclopedia, and BEHOLD! on the facing page "a palm tree" with what looks -like- a CLUSTER of green GRAPES! Firm, ripe, coconuts! Wine of the palm is indeed MILK and MEAT. "The abundant liquid inside the shell becomes solid and oily to form the coconut meat, which is subsequently dried to make commercial copra." Sap SHED from the "bud" produces a SWEET drink and sugar syrup. ("The trees of the Lord are full of sap!" :) (Behold: "clusters of the vine" in the boughs of the palm tree! :) "I AM come into my garden, my sister, my SPOUSE: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine -with- my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved." (SOS.5:1!) (Grape Jelly on Ice Cream? :) "Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found -in- the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all." (Isa.65:8) >Curious Questioner> I dont think your conclusion is justified, considering that the mocking was prompted by behavior. They were pictured as drunk before the issue of new wine was raised. The new wine which is found in the cluster is non-alcoholic. Where do you see anyone picturing them as drunk before verse 13? The word for "new wine" in greek there is "gleukous". Glucose is the form of sugar found in grapes and in your blood. The "pure blood of the grape" is non-alcoholic. New wine found in the cluster is no more alcoholic then pure fresh milk. ("Milk does a body good!" :) Back in 1981, at a graduation dinner after the completion of an advanced "Water Rescue" training course, most of the people were drinking alcoholic beverages. David & I were drinking Dr.Pepper(r). David was babbling about something, not paying attention to what he was doing, slid the glass door open to the deck and tried to walk through the doorway, but ran smack-dab into the closed -screen- door. And the "others mocking" said, "He's drunk on Doctor Pepper!" (Of course, any sober person knows you can't get drunk on D.P. or grape juice, any more than you can get drunk on pure fresh milk. :) "I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able." (1Cor.3:2) Grace be with your heart in love, for Jesus' sake. Amen. --Richard
