Unleavened Passover
>Curious Questioner> And the reason for unleavened bread in the Passover meal/celebration is as a reminder of how the Jews once fled Egypt with such haste that they did not have time to wait on the bread to rise so they made it without leaven/yeast.Not exactly. They had enough time to roast the lamb. They were NOT to eat bread raised by the corruption of fermentation. Christ is the true bread of God, who was broken for us, and was raised without corruption, for our justification. Once the unleavened bread was made and the lamb roast with fire, THEN they were to gird up their loins, with their shoes on their feet, and their staff in their hand, and "ye shall EAT IT IN HASTE: it is the LORD's passover." (And eaten with BITTER herbs.) The LORD God said: "I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon -ME- whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."(Zech.12:10) "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted...he hath poured out his soul unto death... and he bare the sin of many..." (Isa.53:4,12p) The firstborn Son of God was sacrificed as a Lamb on the cross, so that the judgment could pass-over those that trust his blood to redeem them from all iniquity. The precious blood of Christ is the sure redemption of your soul. Remember that Jesus is the Lord. Grace be to them that CHERISH the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. --Richard (-2 Please see Wine vs. pure Grape Juice next. Thanks. :)
